Crowdfunding as a marketing tool

Published on 07/02/2017

Banks are increasingly engaging in stacked financing. That is, they are advising their clients to turn not only to bank financing, but also to alternative financing such as crowdfunding. Apart from the fact that crowdfunding can (partly) help raise capital, it can also be put to good use as a marketing tool. How, we will explain.

Social engagement

Investors who invest in an organisation or project through crowdfunding feel like ambassadors of it. They stand behind their investment and are even proud of it. They like to tell others what they have invested in and why. If possible, they even buy products from the organisation in question. This social engagement creates bonding with investors and customers. It also generates prospects. All this in turn constitutes a source of information, which you can use in your PR campaigns and sending mailings to specific target groups.
