Avoid 'surprises' with a non-cancellable credit limit

Published on 07/02/2017

Credit insurers may lower the credit limit on your customer lower, for example because confidence in a debtor or industry has declined. This is included as standard in the policy conditions. Indeed, cover may even be withdrawn completely if there are valid reasons. The continuity of your deliveries may then be jeopardised. If you want to avoid this, a non-cancellable credit limit offers a solution.

Security for 12 months or more

Sometimes, your customer or the specific contract is so important to your organisation that you do not want to run any risk of the coverage on it being withdrawn by the insurer. With a so-called 'non-cancellable' credit limit, you are assured that the insurer cannot withdraw cover for a long period of time. Usually this is a period of 12 months, but longer is also possible. However, you remain responsible for debtor management.

Several variants

A non-cancellable credit limit can be quite interesting for your organisation. Insurers therefore offer several variants, such as:

Single buyer coverage
Coverage on only one or a few debtor(s);

Single contract coverage
Customisation for long-term projects/contracts;

Hybrid coverage
Certainty of coverage for your most important debtors (non-cancellable) combined with coverage based on your own credit management procedures.

Each variant allows you to manage your business and make decisions for a longer period of time. And that in an ever-changing economic environment. Click here for more info.
